Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World

The Aglet Rating 9/10
Plot Overview: Scott Pilgrim is a movie based off of the series of graphic novels (which I havent read yet, but I will, and will probably review those also) about a guy, named Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera), a 23 year old, who lives in Toronto, Canada who plays bass guitar, in his band, Sex Bob-Omb, a reference to Super Mario Bros. 2, or so I've heard. Also In his band are Stephen Stills (Mark Webber), lead singer, and lead guitarist, and Kim Pine (Allison Pill), Drummer. Scott also owns an apartment, ironically right across the street from his childhood house. He shares this apartment with a guy named Wallace (Kieran Culkin). At the beginning of the movie, Scott is going out with Knives Chau (Ellen Wong), a 17 year old Catholic school girl, but early on, this becomes a problem as Scott starts seeing a girl known as Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) everywhere. And when I say everywhere, I mean from his dreams, to partys. Ramona Comes from New York city, trying to hide from her past, which seems to follow her. She also works at Amazon, which helps Scott to actually find her. There, he asks her out, though still dating Knives. After the first date, Scott invites Ramona to the Battle of the Bands Concert, where Scott finds out about the 'League of evil exes' and that he has to defeat all 7 before he and Ramona can continue to date.

Review:
Well, first thing about this movie, is that it's almost like watching a video game, making too many references to keep track of. The humor is also great, also with a good amount of visual puns, easily keeping you smiling throught the whole movie. You might think that all of the jokes come straight from the comics, but actually, most of them come from the script. More on what I said before with how there are many visual puns, all of the effects look amazing, with small comic book effects, worked into the movie it's self.
Also more refrences are on Scott's shirts that he wears, from video games, to the bands who do some of the songs for the movie.
The casting of this movie next to perfect, with the only problem being Michel Cera. Don't get me wrong, he did an amazing job, but just didn't qute fit the part. Usualy Michael Cera is the quiet one in the movie, and they almost completly switched his role in this movie. But otherwise the cast was just amazing.Probably the best charecter is Wallice, the gay roommate, always making laughs in the little things that he does, or says.
As for the storyline goes, it is weird and cliched, in a somewhat ironic way, making it all the more funny, folowing straight from the Comic book, as far as I know.
Thats all I really have to say. I'm really new to reviewing things, so it's probably gonna be awhile before I get used to doing these.
